Gma’s Cheesy Potatoes

1 pkg shredded potatoes (can use those with peppers and onions in if you wish)
1 8 oz. carton sour cream
1 can cream of mushroom soup (can use cream of chicken or cream of mushroom chicken or even cream of celery)
1/2 stick of melted margarine
1 c. shredded cheese ( I use colby jack )
garlic salt
salt and pepper
if you don’t use potatoes with onions in them add some onion. If they seem dry add a little milk.
I sprinkle cheese on top about 1/2 way thru baking.
Bake at 350 for 1 hr. depending on your oven. You can sprinkle crushed cornflakes on top . That always adds a nice crunch.
